Truckbud Privacy Policy

At Trualr Technologies Inc. dba Truckbud ("Trualr," "Truckbud," "we," "our," or "us"), your trust matters. When you book a delivery through our website, app, or platform (collectively, the "Services"), you share personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, and payment details. Protecting that information is central to how we operate.

This Privacy Policy explains:

  • what information we collect about you;
  • how we use and share that information;
  • the steps we take to protect it; and
  • the rights you have over your data.

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.

Note: If you apply to drive or perform deliveries on the Truckbud platform, our Driver Privacy Notice applies in addition to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the information we reasonably need to connect customers, drivers, and businesses in a safe and reliable way.

a. Account Information

We collect your name, email, phone number, and login credentials so you can create and manage an account.

b. Delivery Information

We collect:

  • pickup and drop-off addresses, delivery instructions, and contact details so Drivers know where to go and how to complete your delivery;
  • basic details about items being delivered (for example, "couch" or "fridge") so Drivers know what kind of vehicle or help may be needed; and
  • recipient details if you are booking a delivery on behalf of someone else (with their consent), so the correct person receives the item.

c. Driver Information

For Drivers, we may collect:

  • driver's licence details, vehicle details, licence plate, and insurance confirmation to verify eligibility;
  • compliance or screening information where required by law or our internal policies.

d. Payment Information

We collect:

  • credit card or payment account details, which are processed securely by third-party payment providers; and
  • billing address information to help confirm your payment method and prevent fraud.

e. Usage and Device Data

We may collect:

  • IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and browser type to help us ensure the Services work properly across devices;
  • activity within the app or site (such as pages visited, features used, and session duration) to help us improve features and fix problems; and
  • location data (where enabled) to help us connect you with nearby Drivers and plan efficient delivery routes.

f. Communications

We may collect:

  • messages, feedback, and support inquiries you send us;
  • delivery-related calls, texts, or in-app chats between Drivers and Customers to help coordinate deliveries and support the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • operate, maintain, and provide the Services;
  • enable deliveries between Customers and Drivers;
  • process bookings and payments;
  • verify Drivers and maintain safety and trust;
  • provide customer and driver support;
  • communicate with you about bookings, updates, service changes, and offers (where permitted by law);
  • improve, personalize, and secure the Services; and
  • meet legal, regulatory, tax, and compliance obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With Drivers or Customers: To complete a delivery (for example, names, addresses, phone numbers, and basic item details).
  • With Service Providers: With third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, hosting, analytics, communications, and security. These providers only receive the data necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
  • For Safety and Legal Reasons: Where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Truckbud, our users, or others.
  • During Business Changes: If Trualr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protection consistent with this Policy.

4. Security of Your Data

We use a mix of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect your information, including:

  • encryption of sensitive information in transit;
  • limited access to personal data, restricted to Truckbud personnel and service providers who need it to do their jobs; and
  • secure servers and hosting environments monitored and maintained to industry standards.

No system can be guaranteed 100% secure. You can help by using strong, unique passwords, keeping them confidential, and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your Account.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Like most online platforms, Truckbud uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • keep you signed in between visits;
  • remember your preferences;
  • improve functionality and performance; and
  • collect usage analytics to understand how people use the Services.

You can adjust your browser settings to decline or delete cookies. Some parts of the Services may not function properly without them.

6. Data Transfers Outside Canada

Your information may be stored or processed outside of Canada (for example, in the United States) when we work with third-party service providers. When this occurs, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

We choose service providers that commit to strong privacy and security practices and remain committed to protecting your information regardless of where it is processed.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Services and maintain your Account;
  • comply with legal, regulatory, or tax requirements;
  • resolve disputes and enforce agreements; and
  • support legitimate business purposes.

When your information is no longer needed, we will securely delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be linked to you.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion of your personal data (where we are not legally required to retain it);
  • withdraw consent to certain processing (where processing is based on consent); and
  • ask questions about how your data is handled.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in laws, technology, or how we operate. The "Last modified" date at the top indicates when it was last updated.

If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Services, by email, or by other reasonable means. The latest version of this Policy will always be available on our website.
